Trump Is a Laughing Matter - Reason Magazine →
It just amazes me that somehow the sanest man in politics Ron Paul is described by the media as some kind crazy abolitionist yet they want to hold up Donald Trump as a “mainstream” republican despite all of his birther nonsense and conspiracy theory spouting. The sad part about the whole thing is that most people are such slaves to what the talking heads tell them they believe the...

–  Nudgers vs. Nannies - Reason Magazine Really the article title should be called Stupid Ass People who want to tell me what to do. It really makes no difference whether they are nudging or nannying, either way they want to control what I do and don’t do.  To those people I just want to fly...

During the two-hour raid, a dozen people were searched and, even though officers justified the wide search by telling a judge no “innocent persons” congregated in the abandoned lot, only four people were charged with drug crimes. An 80-year-old man was among those detained, then released, during the operation. Why does this not surprise me?  I am sure the argument is “If your doing...

How I know I am on the right track.
When I get excited about something I am working and I also get a little scared. When ever I get both of these feelings at the same time, I know in my head I am doing the right thing. Why? Because it means I care about what I am doing. You can almost never go wrong doing something that matters to you.

Android, the NRA, and the 1st Ammendment
Yup it’s a nice chimera post of different subjects all rolled into one. Let’s talk about Android. Come on why not? All the geeks are doing it right?  Look I just don’t get the whole Android thing. To me every Android phone I have looked at has just felt wrong, but then I am rather happy with my iPhone. This about sums it up for me:     If your main argument for Androids...

Obscenity
Why are there laws against Obscenity? Who gets to decide what is obscene and what is not? Why is a man facing a possible $32 million fine, and years in jail? I just don’t understand why people think they have a right to restrict or try to control what others do. No one here is being forced to watch or participate. No one is being forced to commit any sexual acts, or watch any sexual...

Someone in "power" who gets it.
By now I am sure most people have read or heard about the Supreme Court decision in the case of McDonald Vs Chicago. If not what rock are you living under? Click that link and educate yourself. The decision basically says that the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America is an individual right and it applies equally to Local, State, and Federal Government. The reason...

iPhone/iPad Apps, Data, & Me
I have been work for the last few months on a iPhone/iPad app that will use a HUGE set of data. The main problem that I have run into at this point is the data. Just getting it to the app has been my biggest issue. While I think Core Data is probably the preferred way to get the data into the app I am beginning to think that the way I want to set things up it maybe easier to use SQLite and...

Adobe®: We Love Choice →
valhallaisland: The $600 Flash authoring tool is the only way to produce Flash applications. The free Mac OS X Developer tools (that require an $800+ Mac computer) are the only way to produce iPhone and iPad applications. Both systems are as closed as each other. Adobe claims Flash is open. Apple makes no such claims. If you want to make iPhone or iPad apps you use Mac OS and Xcode, take it...
